Our department consists of five divisions including Modern Turkish Literature,Classical Turkish Literature,New Turkic Language, Old Turkic Language, and Turkish Folk Literature.
Division of Modern Turkish Language
The studies carried out in the Department of New Turkish Literature cover a period of time starting from the Tanzimat Period to the present day.
Division of Classical Turkish Literature
Classical Turkish Literature was shaped under the strong influence of Persian literature, which was shaped by taking its theoretical and aesthetic principles from Turkish-Islamic culture in the development process of Turkish literature, and started to give competent examples especially from the end of the century. The 13th century, when the Ottoman Empire officially accepted westernization in the 19th century. It is a well-established literary tradition that survived until the middle of the century.
Division of New Turkic Language
Focusing on the 13th century and later periods of the Turkish language, the Diivisionof New Turkic Language offers a training program covering Western Turkic, Old Anatolian Turkish, Ottoman Turkish and Turkey Turkish language courses.
Division of Old Turkic Language
Division of Old Turkic offers students the opportunity to learn about the Old Turkish and Middle Turkish periods starting from the 7th century, when the first known inscriptions are found.
Division of Turkish Folk Literature
The courses within the scope of the Turkish Folk Literature Division include an educational program that guides students to understand, analyze, interpret and produce knowledge in a wide range of cultures from historical periods to daily life.
